Send Funds

Part 2: 🔐 How to Send Funds in Hydra Wallet

🧩 Step 1: Access the Hydra Wallet Open the Hydra Wallet app and ensure you are logged into the correct wallet address (displayed at the top of the screen). ⚠️ Security Note: Never share your recovery phrase (passphrase) or private key with anyone. While your public wallet address can be shared, all other information must remain strictly confidential.

💸 Step 2: On the Home screen, select “Send”

🧾 Step 3: Enter Recipient Information, Amount, and Asset Type The screen will display the following fields:

Available Balance 💸 Estimated Network Fee 📮 Recipient's Wallet Address 💰 Amount of Token to Send 🔘 Expandable Options:

  • Assets + to choose the token you want to send

  • Add recipient + to add another recipient (for multi-send)

⚙️ Network Fee – Automatically Displayed After Input 💡 Once you enter the recipient address and the amount to send, Hydra Wallet will automatically calculate and display the network fee just below the input fields.

The network fee is dynamically calculated based on:

  • The number of recipients (more recipients → higher fee)

  • The type of asset being sent (tADA, tokens, NFTs, etc.)

  • Your wallet’s UTxO structure (many small UTxOs → higher fee)

Example: After filling in all the details, you might see a fee like -tA 0.172057.

📌 This fee is deducted in addition to the amount you entered to send, so you don’t need to add it manually.

Assets + – Select the Token to Send: Tap Assets + to open a list of tokens currently held in your wallet. Choose the token you want to send (e.g., tADA, tRPS, NFT...). If you don’t select a token, the system will default to sending the main token — usually tADA on testnet or ADA on mainnet.

📌 When to use this: When you own multiple tokens and want to choose the correct asset to send.

🔐 Security Note:

  • Do not send unknown or suspicious tokens (scam tokens may lead to loss of assets if interacted with).

  • Only send assets that the recipient actually needs or recognizes.

Add recipient +: Send to Multiple Recipients in One Transaction This feature allows you to add multiple recipients within a single transaction. Each recipient can have:

  • A unique wallet address

  • A specific asset type

  • A distinct amount

📌 When to use it: Ideal for scenarios such as:

  • Distributing rewards to multiple users

  • Bulk token transfers to a community or team members

🧠 Example: You can send:

  • 2,000 tADA to A

  • 500 RPS to B

  • 1 NFT to C → all in a single transaction.

🔐 Security & UX Notes:

  • Carefully verify each recipient entry — even a small mistake could lead to permanent loss.

  • If you make an error with one recipient, the entire transaction will still be processed.

Step 4: Confirm & Sign the Transaction Once you’ve entered all recipient addresses, token amounts, and selected the asset type, click “Sign Transaction”. Hydra Wallet will then display the “Confirm Transaction” screen — the final step to review all transaction details before signing and submitting it to the blockchain.

The confirmation screen includes:

  • Transaction ID

  • Recipient addresses & token amounts

  • Signing wallet (the wallet being used to authorize the transaction)

  • Exact network fee

🔢 Transaction ID This is a unique identifier string for the transaction you are about to send. It typically starts with Tx_ or appears as a long numeric/hexadecimal string.

Once the transaction is successful, you can use this ID to look up its status on a blockchain explorer.

📌 Note: If you're keeping internal records or handling accounting, it’s recommended to save this transaction ID for future reference.

🧭 Recipient Address This is the wallet address that will receive the ADA or token. It is displayed in full and usually starts with addr_test1... (testnet) or addr1... (mainnet).

🛡 Critical Security Tips:

  • Always double-check the first 4 and last 4 characters of the address.

  • Cross-verify with the original source (QR code, clipboard, etc.).

  • Never proceed if the address looks suspicious or you’re unsure about the recipient’s identity.

💰 Token & Amount Displays the token you selected to send (e.g., tADA, RPS, NFT...) And the specific amount, such as: 2,000.00

📌 Common Mistakes to Avoid:

  • Typing the wrong amount (e.g., 20,000 instead of 2,000)

  • Sending the wrong token (e.g., tRPS instead of tADA)

  • Exceeding your available balance → the system will show an error when you click “Sign,” but it's best to prevent this early.

💸 Network Fee The actual fee required by the blockchain to process and confirm the transaction. Automatically calculated by the wallet after all details are entered. Example display: -tA 0.172057

📌 This fee is deducted separately, so you don’t need to manually add it to your send amount. 📌 If you add multiple recipients or send multiple token types, the fee will increase → review carefully before confirming.

👛 Signing Wallet This is the wallet within your Hydra account that will be used to sign the transaction. If you have multiple wallets, make sure this is the one that holds the assets you intend to send.

🔐 Enter Sending Password to Sign the Transaction

Purpose: This is the password you set when creating or restoring your wallet. It is used to digitally sign and confirm the transaction.

When you enter the correct password and click “Submit”, the wallet will generate a digital signature → and broadcast the transaction to the blockchain.

Step 5: Submit the Transaction to the Network

After entering your password and clicking “Submit”, the wallet will broadcast the transaction to the blockchain.

A confirmation message will appear: “Transaction submitted successfully”, along with a “View” button to check the transaction status on the blockchain explorer.

🔐 Note: The transaction may take some time to be confirmed. Do not resubmit multiple times if it seems delayed.

Step 6: Check Transaction History

After submitting the transaction, you can review the result in the wallet’s “History” tab.

🎯 Here you’ll find:

  • A list of your most recent transactions

  • Transaction types: Send Funds, Contract, Withdrawal, etc.

  • The timestamp of each transaction

  • The Transaction ID (Tx Hash) — clickable to open the transaction details on a blockchain explorer
